The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Automobile Association was established in 1971 and was officially registered on the 19th November 1973. The members of the very first executive consisted of Richard Joachim, Patrick Punnette, Kenny Coombs, R. P. Mc. Leish, K. Williams, C. F Richardson and Franklyn Huggins.
At that time the association staged Hill Sprints Dirt Track Races, even island wide special stage rallies and treasure hunts. Associated members visited Barbados regularly to compete in their June Rally and also compete at the now famous Bushy Park. Bajan Competitors also came over to St. Vincent to engage in the Hill Sprint competition on the dirt track. Vincentian racers also visited Trinidad regularly to compete on the Wallerfield Circuit. Friendships forged and continues to this day.
The mandate of the association is Government Motor Sport in S.V.G.
